Our group brings together nutrition, psychology and cooking experts along with YOU- the expert on your own body- to learn and practice mindful & intuitive eating, improve body image and hone your cooking chops!
If you are curious about how intuitive eating can improve your health and happiness and are looking for a supportive environment to learn and practice concrete, hands-on skills, then look no further.
We meet bi-weekly for intimate & personalized discussions about food & nutrition, body acceptance, cooking techniques, and much more, all with a non-diet twist.
We have started this intuitive eating group to kick off the new year with a new perspective towards food, eating, and self-compassion.
TOPICS COVERED: The group will cover a wide range of topics from getting in touch with your hunger and satiety cues to working on the process of self-acceptance. We are also very excited to collaborate with chef Jonah Kimmel to incorporate hands-on cooking experience as an integral part of the group. As part of this, you will get to share in meals and practice mindful eating in session.
Importantly, we want you to get the most out of the experience as possible, so we will personalize and update session content and topics as we go, in order to explore the areas that you are most interested in learning about.
WHERE: The group will be held in the area of Pointe Ste Charles on the island of Montreal. 838 rue de Liverpool, Montreal, QC H3K 2T1. Map it!
WHEN: starting week of February 19th. Groups will take place on Mondays from 2pm to 4pm. Group length will vary depending on if a cooking component is scheduled.
Groups will take place every 2 weeks: February 19th, March 5th, March 19th.
COST: $40/session (payment is due at the beginning of each group and can be made using cash, e-transfer or PayPa
Attendance can be paid for on a session by session basis, or at a discounted rate of $175/5 sessions. Bring a friend and receive $5 off the regular price of $40. Receipts will be made available for insurance purposes as “nutrition workshop”.

TO ATTEND A SESSION: Although we encourage you to attend every meeting, you do not need to commit to a certain # of sessions.
You must reserve your spot for each meeting and let us know if you plan to attend using the form below. Registration for each meeting will be open approximately 2 weeks prior to the date of the group.
Group sizes are limited in order to maximize your experience with discussions and cooking demos. Spots are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. In order to organize the cooking component of the group, we require advance registration.
If a minimum number of attendees is not reached, groups may be canceled. You will be informed via email (and on this webpage) 48hrs prior to the meeting date if a group is canceled.

What to Expect
The cooking component
The cooking component will work as an adjunct to the intuitive and nutritional sides of the sessions, incorporating practical demonstrations, tastings, and hands-on techniques whenever possible. We will largely seek to introduce new ingredients and cookery technique to participants, while engaging in discussion on how to “think like a chef” when it comes to deciding on a menu, organizing and streamlining meal prep, making the most of ingredients on hand, and create complimentary textural and flavour components. The goal of these cooking sessions is to help participants think of food in slightly different ways while reinforcing nutritional composition, balance, and mindful habits, all while sharing stories, anecdotes and esoteric (yet fun and funny) food facts! Seriously (though not really), this is a cooking class with some serious chef technique and brightened/lightened with wit, levity, and humour, encouraging positive encounters with food!
Nutrition and psychology discussions
Discussions on how to concretely practice intuitive eating, body acceptance, and self-compassion can be expected. Forget the formal lectures and powerpoint slides, these sessions will be sprinkled with expert advice while allowing plenty of time for sharing and learning from one another’s experiences. Specific mental exercises that complement discussions will be suggested to help practice how to adopt a more mindful and intuitive approach to food, how to foster more self-compassion and a healthier body image. Topics for discussion will be personalized and session content updated as we go, in order to explore the areas that interest you the most.
